Why use an on-the-day wedding coordinator ?
A dilemma faced by many brides “do I need an on-the-day wedding coordinator”. After all the planning is that extra expenditure really a necessity?
I often see brides who have planned every detail of their wedding and are determined to do everything themselves but soon realise that on the day they want to be a bride and be able to enjoy every moment without thinking about how to ensure everything will run smoothly.
Friends and family kindly offer to help which seems like a great idea but when so much time has gone into planning your big day, you want all your guests, especially your friends and family to enjoy themselves.
The venue coordinators are primarily going to be concerned with all the aspects you have agreed directly with them, the venue, and not necessarily everything else (decorations, favours, photo booth corners, children’s entertainment room).
Will the caterers turn up on time? has the cake been delivered? are the candles lit and is the table plan correct? There are so many details to consider, some big and some little, and you need someone to oversee them so that you don’t have to worry.
You are not alone - an on the day wedding coordinator is there to focus solely on you and your special day from the moment your day begins.
What do I do?
As you might have already read on my About Me page, I have worked as a Duty Manager at a luxury private venue for the last 4 years on over 150 weddings which I believe gives me a great insight into what happens behind the scenes and means I’m not the typical wedding planner. I am here to pitch in and work with the venue, not tell them how to do their jobs.
As an on the day wedding coordinator I don’t want to take over the planning of your special day, you have chosen to do this yourself, but it is important that you know I am here for any help and advice you may need along the way.
The purpose of the service is to provide discreet co-ordination throughout your day. You have done all the hard work, so it is essential you don’t have to think about anything other than having a good time. My role is to work behind the scenes so that the running of the day is calm and smooth for the happy couple and their guests. No one needs to see the hard working going on, it’s my job to make it look effortless.
Whether that’s decorating the room, meeting and greeting, nudging your best man or ushers when they need to fulfil one of their duties, checking all the candles are lit and the music is at the right volume, anything you need help with I am happy to do. I can even come the day before to set up or the following day to help clear up.
A month before your wedding we will meet to discuss your final plans and to run through all your requirements. A detailed time-plan can then be drawn up ready to distribute to all the suppliers you have hired so that everyone knows the plan for the whole day.
I come equipped with my emergency wedding boxes. If there is anything you need at the last minute you should be able to find it in one of these boxes whether it’s a safety pin, a blister plaster cable ties, deodorant, glue, scissors, sewing kit…you name it I’ve probably got it. There are things in the box I never thought I would need but have been asked for by bridal parties and the box gets updated constantly.
Every past bride will tell you the day goes by so quickly. After months of planning and a lot of money spent your day will come and go before you know it, so its so important you sit back, take it in and enjoy the time with your loved ones – especially your new husband or wife.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life so let someone else take all the pressure away, so you can enjoy every magical moment.

There is not a fixed price for my services as every wedding is unique, and every bride and groom have their own ideas and thoughts about what they want help with.
Your day could last for 12 hours or it could be for set-up only. You may require additional help if it’s a large event with a lot of moving parts, so I can bring my team in to help.
Does equipment need collecting beforehand or do you need help the day before the wedding. Does the venue need decorating?
No problem, I am happy to help with anything you need.
Prices for this service begins from £300.00 and will usually be based on me arriving before the ceremony and leaving after the first dance.
If you need a more comprehensive package, prices on application to include:
- Complete a thorough consultation and handover
- Meeting with the couple at the venue for a maximum of 2 hours once they book me
- A tailored schedule for the day
- On-going consultation and advice by email and phone access to me 4 weeks before the wedding
- Be there on the day to co-ordinate all suppliers and ensure all wedding timings are on schedule
I can provide you with a bespoke quote after your initial consultation and price is based on weddings within 25 miles of HP10, travel time to other counties will incur a small supplement.
